Many of the main sites are jammed with Chinese tourists, but there are plenty of quieter trails too. |
We hiked on many trails, often involving steps, but we also joined the local throngs taking this elevator (the highest in the world, they said). |
This cable car, besides saving many steps, was also quite thrilling. |
We felt as if we had stepped into a Chinese landscape painting (or a green and larger version of Bryce Canyon). |
